In Response to A cruise is what you make of it by texaspepper
I just returned from a RCCL cruise to the Caribbean. We found much has been changed since our last cruise two years ago. There are fewer staff so the amenities and attention to cruisers has gone down.
Much of the activities now have fees attached (water aerobics, yoga, etc.).
There was less food, but that's good because there was far too much. The portions were very reasonable and delicious. The midnight buffet has been canceled. There were more "serve yourself" spots in the dining room (fruit & cereal, salad). I didn't mind that.
We heard that the evening entertainment was wonderful. The excursions were great and the islands we visited were beautiful.
All in all, since my cabinmate and I have fibromyalgia and can't take part in lots of the activities, I found the cruise very enjoyable. We intend to go cruising again next year.
