Hi, Yesterday while trying to type, my parrotlet Jade went for my coffee. I had just poured it and it was hot. I luckily got it away from him before he drank any of it. Yes, in doing so the coffee went everywhere. Thats ok though, my rug and jeans got a good cleaning. Because of this, I was wondering if anyone else has to deal with their birds going for drinks or food. Jade also likes to snack on toast, but I make him do it without a side order of coffee! I would like to hear from you. Thanks, Cindy
My Meyers Parrot,Pharoah, loves hard boiled egg yolks. He eats chicken, rice and the aviary vet also said that small amounts of lobster or shrimp will not hurt him. His normal diet is pellets with very little seeds. The vet does't think that a diet of only seeds is good for him. He had been very sick and was picking out all the feathers on his chest. He gave him anitbiotics, antihistamine for the itch of regrwoing new feathers and believe it or not, 3 drops of vodka in his water for the stress of the whold ordeal. I did what the dr. ordered. It worked. Pharoah is a real talker. He has an extensive vocabulary and loves to give birdie licks just like a puppy gives "puppy licks" on your cheek. Aren't birds just wonderful and amazing?
