I have heard that if a cruise ship has extra cabins that a person can get off the ship at their destination; stay there for an extended period of time and then sail back to their departure point. A friend told me that he can sail from New Orleans to Cozumel; stay there for several months then return with the same line when he is ready and if the ship has extra cabins and all for $400 each way. He wants to do this because he can take his bicycle on the ship, but if he flew it would cost him about half his fare. This would be kind of like what GreyHound or Amtrack does. Anyone know if this works?
