I love to travel, and love driving. Thing is I have to make many stops along my trips due to back and neck troubles. I have learned to slow down and enjoy the scenery. I just adore NY's scenery and many other states which I have traveled as well. During my time in the army, I was stationed in Darmstadt, Germany. It was amazing! From my barrick's room window I can still remember looking up at "Castle Frankenstein". I remember how the hairs would rise up on the back of my neck, eh! But friends and I, when we rarely got some time off would just take off and stop at the various wineries and castles. The owners were always very polite; they would let us sample their vintage wines, sometimes selling a few bottles and go out of their way to give us tours of the castles and really make us feel welcome. That was back in 1980 and I just wonder where in the USA a person can be treated w/the same respect and really be able to truly feel "at ease".
