We have 33ft 5th wheel towed by a F250 SD diesel and live near Orlando. We did a trip to Niagra falls and a trip to Nashville. This year we only did short trips throughout central FL. The cost of fuels is the reason for not going north or west for a longer trip. I've looking at the prices on Motor Homes and there are some really good deals. There are even better deals on used MHs. Check out Ebay.
Seems several of the larger States or those with more dealers willing to deal are willing to pretty much cut their losses before they try ordering newer rigs. Places like Seattlehave been much slashed their prices - trouble being a couple of manufactures have started laying off employees due to the high cost of fuel.
And several of the trade-ins I've looked at for friends are now Orphans the maker has disappeared - It's almost like the 60-70's all over again. I'm still waiting for fuel to hit $6 bucks a gallon - not too worry I expect to pay it first have two diesels.
But, courtesy of MacDonalds and Dunkin Donuts - and one crzy neighbor ) now have $1 dollar per gallon diesel available. Seems he watched a link I sent to him on a cross country family on a biodiesel MickeyD's converted coach. Total cost of fuel after 3 months $28 bucks.
