I am always praising the benefits of using straight vinegar as a household cleaner. At $2.32 per gallon where I live - it can't be beat.
Vinegar is about 97% disinfectant. The smell disappates quickly when you spritz.
Ah, another vinegar fan. I discovered how useful this great liquid can be when I discovered that I had Sleep Apnea. The doctor gave me a perscription of a CPAP, a small machine to assist breathing during sleep. The specialist who delivered the CPAP was very clear on using nothing but white vinegar to clean the machine. After that I started using vinegar for other things. When we discover a foul odor in our front loading washer, I started experimenting with Vinegar. I found that filling the detergent dispenser with vinegar along with plain old laundry bleach did the trick. Now once a month I run this throught the washing machine using hot water and an extra rinse cycle
