Well, in the current economic climate, most folks are stuck with the vehicles they already have, large or small. I'm sure many of us would love to have a small car if it were possible. At least gas prices have come down quite a bit from what they were last summer. Best to avoid "soapboxing" please - discourages others from sharing.
I agree that most people are stuck with the vehicles they have, especially if they are financed, such as mine is. I am lucky to have a small Ford Contour, 11 years old that runs great and gets good mileage. I live with my son who dirves a 2002 Ford Explorer, which is NOT really great on gas. We have learned to partk his vehicle on the weekends and take my smaller car for most errands. It saves alot on gas. However, try trading off a big vehicie and see what one can do. I saw a while back in the paper where someone tried to just give away an SUV. They could not afford to drive it, and no one wanted to buy it. We try to combine our errands as much as possible, ride together when possible, think before we hop in the car to get ice cream, go to a movie, etc.
