Just wanted to add a little about Angel Food Ministeries. I help out with ours once a month and it is such a blessing. The food is well worth every penny. For $30.00 you get plenty of food for one or 2 people. I do not buy every month but I keep watch and read the upcoming menus and see if I will use those items then decide from there if I will order or not. It is a cash only basis but they do take food stamps. We even see a lot of people helping out their children or a neighbor or a friend by ordering a box for them. They make great gifts. The extra boxes contain, seaks, fruit and vegies, chicken etc. They are all well packaged and very good. Most are usualy run by churches so check out you local area and try them. I think you will be well pleased.
Our church participates in project called Loaves and Fishes. We prepare meals once a week, (different groups take different days of the week) and prepare lunch for the homeless and poor. It's a great feeling to know that you've served people who really need it, especially the children. We also helped one of the service clubs in town provide items for Christmas dinners.
