Any of you going to deep fry your turkey for Thanksgiving?
We have fried turkeys for several years! It is delicious! We won't be doing so this year , because we are not able to lift it in and out of hot grease. But some people use the injector method, but we always started thawing turkey in fridge, and after the2nd day, (do this about 4 days beforehand) take the wrapping off turkey and rub with Tonys chacherreia, or any kind of mixed rub. do this every day. Whoops, forgot something! while turkey is frozen put in pot and measure the amount of water it takes to cover it. That is how much peanut oil you use. Heat oil to 375 (you must have a thermometer that you can leave in the pot) Carefully and slowly lower the turkey into oil, and maintain heat at 325 or 350. DO NOT put cooker on a coverd porch or next to house. The main danger is having too much oil and when you put the turkey in, it will overflow the pot and catch on fire. I would really rather have a fried turkey than any other way. The taste is awsome. If I have left something out, or you have a question, let me know.
