1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 Tbsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. salt
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 2/3 cups (10-oz. pkg.) holiday morsels
1/2 cup finely chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 375 F degrees
BEAT butter, sugar, vanilla extract and salt in large mixer bowl until creamy. Gradually beat in flour. Stir in morsels and nuts. Shape level tablespons of dough into 1 1/4 inch balls. Roll in powdered sugar. Place on ungreased baking sheets.
BAKE for 10 to 12 minutes or until cookies are set and lightly browned. Remove from oven. Cool on baking sheets for 10 minutes, remove to wire racks to cool completely.
Store in airtight containers.
Makes 4 1/2 dozen cookies.
Optional: Before baking place a candied cherry in center of ball.
Zil, my good buddy. Is there is rule that snowballs have to be baked only at Christmas? Would Thanksgiving be too early? How about now, this evening? If I can get my rear-end up out of this chair, maybe right now. I don’t want to break any rules. So let me know ASAP!
