In the late 1940's or early 1950's my mother belonged to an organization called Home Bureau. It was a group of women who met at each others homes and did various things like cooking and crafts.
My mom learned to make this prune cake when I was little and she would let me stir the sauce that went ontop of the cake. It smelled soooooo good and tasted even better. For years, I have been trying to find this perticular recipe but to no avail. The cake had prunes, sour cream and nuts in it. I think the sauce had nuts in it too.
Has anyone heard of this recipe? Please let me know. Every holiday brings back the memory of this special cake!
I LOVE this website because it has great recipes.
I hope this helps.
