Chris, What amazing tips!!!!! I often wondered why my bananas ripened so quickly. I'll have to use that cayenne pepper for my friendly squirrels.. Thanks for the tips!!!! Stella
I know what you mean about the bananas getting ripe so fast. My husband insists on one banana a day (don't ask -it's a Venezeulan thing!). Anyway, the rotten bananas are good for banana-nut health muffins. I make some variation of that muffin every week because of the rotten bananas! I throw dark chocolate chips in sometimes for a banana-nut-chocolate chip muffin. Or sometimes, I add fresh strawberries or cherries or grated apple. I can make muffins with my eyes closed now! Because of the whole wheat flour and bran that I use in the recipe, we have actually been able to lose a few pounds.
