In my attempt to get my family to eat heathier in 2008, I took advantage of AARP's Fitness Ambassador Martina Navratilova's recipe that she shared while on ABC's "Good Morning America". I made a small adjustment by adding a sugar substitute.
1 1/2 cups fresh raspberries of blueberries
3 tablespoons honey
2 cups plain yogurt
1 teaspoon vanilla extra
3 packets equal (sugar subsitute) - this is my addition!
In a blender, process the berries and 1 tablespoon honey until smooth. In a small bowl, combine the yogurt with the vanilla and remaining honey. (add equal)
Layer the yogurt and berry puree in 4 parfait glasses.
Makes 4 servings.
Hi Texan, my name is Fran and I live with my husband in NE. Texas between Dallas and Texarkana. I love good recipes, and this healthy drinks sounds really great! I am going to get some recipes and put out on here soon. Weight Watchers has a similar health drink similar to this, but this one sounds a little better!
What part of Texas do you live in? I am into my 2nd marriage with my husband of 3 years, after meeting and marrying in a small East Texas town. I had moved back to Crockett, from living in Houston for 27 years, as a single working Mother. My 2 sons now live in Florida, and my hubby's 3 daughters live in East Texas, and we share 5 grandkids. We moved up to Sulphur Springs, (ever heard of it?) right after we married, because some of his relatives live up this way, and Crockett was a difficult place to be in.
Please drop a note sometimes to say hi, and so we can get acquainted. I really enjoy the AARP members very much.
