HELP! I want to bake a homemade apple pie. It sounds easy, I have the recipe but my problem is that it calls for tart apples. Would you believe I went to Wal-mart and in the produce section there are many different apples. However, none of them say, "Hey there lady, we are the tart family!" So I looked around and spotted a few ladies and each one 0f them said, "I don't bake"! Although, one of the ladies suggested that I go ask over at the bakery. I did, I waited and waited until finally this nice man came out of the back and I asked him if he knew what kind of apples would I need to bake a homemade apple pie. You know what he did? He took me over and showed me all the beautiful pies that was neatly boxed up and on the shelves. Again I tried to explain to him that I am old fashion person who loves to cook from scratch and I want to bake a Homemade Apple pie. He looked at me funny and said "Oh no...I don't bake. I really thought it was funny. No one could help me. I thought I probably should have got on here before I left for the store and ask my good friends what should I do???? Well....."What should I do"??? I have red delious washington apples and I bought green granny smith. I hope one of them will do. I don't want to blow it, being my first time. Waiting for any answers...except "I don't bake"
norahKay, Glad your apple pie turned out good. I guess we all have our own ways of preparing them, and they all sound delicious. Wanda
