I love Melanie. They just recently tried to get her inducted into the 'Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame' but apparently it didn't work. I signed the petition myself. She was at Woodstock. She was, in my opinion, one of the pioneers of the sixties music.
I love the songs, 'Lay Down (Candles In The Wind), 'Summer Of Love', 'Look What They've Done To My Song Ma', 'Beautiful People', 'Ruby Tuesday', 'Christopher Robin', 'Brand New Key', 'Peace Will Come According To Plan', 'Leftover Wine', and the list goes on and on. Check out my myspace page from my profile and your can watch a terriffic video of hers.
A couple of years ago I bought her Christmas CD titled 'Antlers' it's great.
I know that she is still touring, but from what I understand it is mostly overseas. I would love to see her in person, but she never comes to 'my part of the country'.
I was just wondering if there were any Melanie fans out there in AARP land and what you think of her music.
Take Care, Kathy
I found "Brand New Key":
