I don't know if it was like this in other cities or not, but in Tampa in late 1969 "Whole Lotta Love" by Led Zepplin was everywhere. The radio stations were playing it over and over, every car in town seemed to have an 8 track cassette player playing it, and it could be heard wafting from the open windows of homes and apartments all over town.
A few months later, in April 1970 the Zepplin came to Curtis Hixon Hall in Tampa, and I was there! "Whole Lotta Love" was the last song they played that night, and it lasted for... oh, I'm sure it was 3 or 4 hours at least.
The link is to a 3 minute version of the song. Youtube also has 4, 5, 7, and 8 minute versions. Sometimes when it gets real quiet late at night I think I hear... "Way down inside..."
