In this months AARP magazine I wrote an article on different techniques of monitoring and reminders to help families and their parents cope with living at home -- unfortunately the link was broken in the AARP newsletter that went out on Feb 15th -- here is a link to the article www.aarpmagazine.org/family/caregiving/caregiving_staying_connected.html">http://www.aarpmagazine.org/family/caregiving/caregiving_staying_connected.html
Many calls have been from people who don't even own a computer, but do use a cell phone. These people are "smart silvers" indeed - because they recognize the need to do everything they can to manage their medications properly. They put 2 and 2 together and saw the advantages of using the cell phone they already own to receive medication reminder calls.
As a retired nursing home pharmacist, I know from 18 years of experience - the ability to manage medications successfully is a real KEY to aging in place.
This exposure for OnTimeRx medication reminder software and phone reminder service has been great, and I would love to talk to any members of this group about my favorite subject - ways to achieve medication compliance - to stay out of nursing homes!
