Anthony Bourdain, the "No Reservations" host, questioned Paula Deen's promotion of fatty foods on her television program while knowing about her diagnosis of type 2 diabetes. He said, "If I were on at seven at night and loved by millions of people at every age, I would think twice before telling an already obese nation that it's OK to eat food that is killing us."
He was also critical of Paula Dean for signing a contract with Novo Nordisk, a company that encourages early diagnosis and drug treatment of type 2 diabetes, since many cases can be treated by changes in eating habits, losing unhealthy weight and exercising regularly.
