Sure is a quiet group. Thought I'd set out a question. I've been quite the couch potato all winter and just last week I started to walk to work. I live in DC, in a dense and urban part of it, and didn't feel safe walking in the dark either mornings or evenings. But now its light out. The trek is 2.5 miles. I use the web site www.walkjogrun.net to map out my route and see where to walk. I'm about 50 pounds overweight, so i have a long way to go. But at least i started.
Any other Spring newbies out there?
fat to walking but not yet fat to fit
The daylight in the evening (thanks to spring ahead time) has inspired me to come home from work (I'm on the Metro physical fitness program, too--healthy hikes to and from trains, buses, etc.) and go right out again for a brisk walk with my personal trainer. My dog is ever so happy that I'm into exercising more. He's just far more into stopping to smell the weeds than I am!
