Is your goal to absorb a dose of Vitamin D, explore new terrain, or simply to get your heart pumping? Do you walk with your dog, a friend, or with a group? Or do you prefer a solitary walk? Every day? And how far? I walk up a steep hill on days when I don't play tennis, and it takes me about 50 minutes round-trip. What's your routine?
Here's another reason to exercise outdoors. I just finished reading a report on the impact of outdoor exercise on memory. Evidently exercising outdoors improves memory. Researchers weren't sure why.
Normally we think of exercise as benefiting our bodies from the neck down. It turns out that exercise benefits our brain as well, especially when it is outdoors.
