Milk is for baby cows! It contains extremely dense nutrients designed to "grow" a calf into a very large animal in a very short period of time. Very few humans have need of this sort of nutrition, nor are most of us able to effectively digest such substances, hence the myriad health problems associated with dairy consumption. And choosing low- or fat-free dairy products actually exascerbates the problem! It is very telling that the Dairy Lobby is one of the largest in Washington; therefore, I suggest we remain current on studies--which continue to accumulate--that draw strong correlations between dietary dairy and serious health issues including obesity, allergies/asthma, and diabetes/metabolic syndrome in both adults and children. Have your cream in your coffee if you love it, but look for your minerals in plant-based foods like nuts and seeds, dark leafy greens and broccoli, and perhaps seaweeds and fish. Here's wishing you well!
