It's time when my 3 year old grand daughter looks at me and says "Grandma, your FAT!" and then to my surprise, "You need to get just right - Fat is bad for you". What a wake up call, my grand daughter is more concerned about my weight and health than I am. Well I thought I had done good. In 2007 I had lost 47 pounds down from a whooping 222 on a 5 foot frame. I have not had near as much joint pain, and I can now stand on my feet for long periods. But what I had done was stop when the work got hard. I have even gained 10 pounds back and I feel it.
I am a workaholic and spend long hours at my nonprofit, serving my community. (50 to 70 hours weekly) And the work is just getting tougher with County and State Budget cuts and impacted foundation funding - we need funding to keep doing the work that we do and that is up to me to get it in. I am the mother of 4 boys who are in their early 20's. (I have a set of twins both in the service) My two older boys are living at home and in and out of problems, both legal and relationships. Thus, my stress and lack of time that I blame for my inability to loose weight. I was having symptoms of heart problems and went through all the testing to find out that my heart and arteries are in perfect shape! ITS THE STRESS! What better way to relieve stress? EXERCISE!!!!, but I just eat the goodies and more of them and keep sitting at my computer.
So it is time to stop! Prioritize! and GET WITH IT!! I am ready to accept this Fat2Fit Challenge. My plan is to reduce portion size, no seconds, log calories, walk (I love to walk, especially with my grand daughter), Exercise with the FIT channel in the mornings, work the weights in the evening with my husband, and log my exercise. I will use this group and my husband for support. My goal is to loose 50 pounds for better health, sanity, and so I can keep playing with my grand daughter and make a difference in my community.
Thank you for motivating me with this FAT2FIT Challenge. I look forward to doing this together with all of you.
