In Response to The Iron Lady by janice0927
Yes,I agree with you completely Meryl Streep should be receiving "The Academy Award. We just saw "The Iron Lady" today and we thought Meryl Streep's performance was a mind blower!
I was with my friends who were originally from England. Their criticism was about the movie itself, that it didn't epand enough on her achievements, and important events were left out. I told them probably due to time limitations!
They said that Meryl Streep traveled to London with permission to spent time with Margaret Thatcher and studied her ways and probably manor of speech, which was evident in her amazing portrayal.
The rest of the cast was excellent too, and her those who handled the make-up and costuming are probably up for awards too, as well they should be, superb!
I didn't mind the amount of time spending upon her Alzheimer Disease, but feel they could have persued historical events in a more interesting fashion, because by glossing over too quickly, it eliminated that aspect.
However I also liked how they focused upon her memories to bring her story to light. Thanking you and Dog Dreams for giving me more of an inspiration to see this fim and the best acting performance of the year! Shelby
