I love the news. I have ridden the trains from Chattanooga until they stopped coming here. The old train station is now part of the Holiday Inn Franchise. i love the old tracks and the flowers and all. I miss those days.
I started riding again when my daughter was in college in Lynchburg, VA. its overnight from Atlanta but its such a neat ride! I wish more people would ride. It is so relaxing.
I ride to Meridian and New Orleans to visit family and friends. i love the dinning car and the lounge. I've made friends that I am still in touch with more than 9 years ago on a ride to New Orleans.
Is the route from Chicago to San Francisco nice? I'd love to take that ride in the next year or two. I also want to take the train from the East coast of Canada to the West Coast. Anybody know anything about that ride? Any suggestions or sites I can look into to plan that ride?
Thanks for the great news. I love the train.
I traveled for the first time across country from Temple, Texas to Los Angeles, California. The ride was great, but a setback with no internet service and some trains without electrical outlets. Amtrak needs to improve in this area if traveling across country.www.aarp.org/community/editor/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/omg_smile.gif" />
