I enjoyed the chat today. I am in my "third act", retired four years ago, found a part time job a year later and was "laid off" due to lack of funding September 2009. While I have been trying many new things, I would like to interact with folks who find themselves in the same situation, i.e. what to do other than volunteering. I do some volunteer work, but I find that most organizations require you to come weekly on the same day for at least four hours and I find that too restricting. I realize that this online forum is the reinvention group, but I think there are two groups of people who are your audience - those who want to recareer and those who are retired and want to try something new but haven't found what it is that they are passionate about. Could we perhaps have another online group as an offshoot for retirees? I am a great believer in "synchronicity" by the way!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks.
Great observation Janice about the two different audiences. I believe that the recareer group have a unique set of challenges from retirees. Often the major challenge is the need to continue to earn an income for some time into the future - maybe longer than they thought because of the poor economy.
