I have been on pain meds for years and I do not like it. I have several isssues with my spine. After many failed experiments on my body by the medical "professionals" have totally failed me. One treatment called pelvic traction caused me to be unable to walk out of the doc's office. I went to this other doc that put wires pins into my ear and pasted a bulb with flashing electric lighting coming from an element to the edges of the bulb. This bulb was rubbed on my tummy. I left that office with no change in pain levels. The wires that this "doc" put in became infected. I have had a tens unit that used electrical shocks to stop the pain and the system burned my skin and was not effective. I was so happy in the days that I smoked grass. It was the best pain killer I have ever used. The days I smoked an ounce cost only $10.00 an ounce. Then our GREAT PRESIDENT NIXION declared the war on drug and poison the crops in Mexico with a lot of kids were smoking those days. I saw a film clip with Grodon Liddy said that we need to do something to the rest of those drug addicts. I believe in home grown weed and pray that minds will change to allow anyone who wants to smoke grass can and not be put in jail. If someone does not want to smoke it, I surely will not force them to do so. I feel that anything that is put into ones body is there own business. If someone has a problem with any substance it becomes a medical problem and not a legal problem. You can even over dose on water! Drugs do destroy lives and it is sad. Most of the approved drugs have side affects. I would rather smoke my grass and fire the doctors which have basically destroyed my body. The government has used "illegal drugs" to pick and choose who they want to arrest and that is a fact! Soon to be 63 and want to get high but it cast to much which sucks!
I am sorry for your dilemma. I, too, have given up on treatment for my MS. I have turned to a diet that is gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free and now meat-free. I walk as much as I am able and go past the pain. I do Yoga and a lot of stretches.
I am a believer in finding what works for YOU. Doctors wanted me to have surgery that would possibly have kill me ( I did not need surgery). When I went to the next Doctor they put me on Meds for high blood pressure. It was up because I was in pain. The doctor's spouse ( also a doctor) came in one day, never having seen me before, and upped the dosage. I never went back. I meditate now and my pressure is fine.
I hope you can find your "medicine" reasonably priced. Pain is no picnic!
