I remember going to "Le Louvre" in Paris, and seeing the masters paintings when I was only 16 years of Age. I was really impressed,. Then I walked into the room where Rubin's Paintings were.
Those paintings were from almost the ceiling to the floor, and I had to sit down for a long time to take it all in. I was simply overwhelmed with the skin tones, the detail,, and the perspective. I couldn't even get over how he captured the folds in the larger women's skin! It was all so beautiful!
Many years later, as an adult I returned to this great Art Museum, but this time, I was mesmerised by some of the other paintings in that museum by other great artists, which showed lace that actually looked like lace, velvet that actually looked like velvet. Then with some paintings of older people, I couldn't get over how, even their wrinkles were captured on canvas!
While I can't paint myself, I developed an appreciation for the arts, and wish to share my feelings with you! Shelby
