The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, Indianapolis, INThe Eiteljorg Museum, which opened in 1989, was founded by Harrison Eiteljorg. The museum showcases Western and Native American art and cultural objects. The museum's design is also inpired by the land, people, and architecture of the American Southwest.Art of the American West is as diverse as the region itself. From the early 19th century to the present, Native artists as well as artists from around the world have worked in traditional or modernist styles to draw, paint, and sculpt the West as they have seen and experienced it. The Art of the American West Gallery at the Eiteljorg Museum offers a broad survey of 20th century art of the West, from commercial illustrations by early 20th century painters to introspective abstractions by modernists who followed, all drawn by the promise of adventure, romance, and ideal subjects. Please refer to the Eiteljorg Museum site for examples of this art.
Hello , I know I'm posting to an older topic,
