I was not aware when I first subscribed to the magazine; "Travel, 50 & Beyond" that the mag was actually little more than the "house organ" for Vacations To Go.com. This in itself would not be bad, except it didn't take me long to notice that the editorial content is nothing more than chamber-of-commerce type articles, (no doubt submitted by the owners & mgrs of the various sites in the articles), and one doubts that someone would actually advise the readers if there were a live revolution being fought in the streets of the subject destination. The mag is further impersonalized by the fact that there is no reader-input content, not even a letters-to-the-editor column. So, it would seem that Mr. Alan Fox is NOT interested in seeing any writings from anyone but Mr Fox. Oh, did I mention that he is listed as the President on the ownership block? So, my advice- don't waste your money subscribing to a publication, that should, in my opinion, be sent for free by VTG.com since it is little more than a billboard space for them & their sub-advertisers at any rate! Happy Trails to my fellow travelers-IndyMo
That's true of other magazines too. After a few issues, you realize that they're 75% advertisement, and a few "articles" that also happen to be about their advertisers! I got a few issues of "Coastal Living" and "Southern Living", and found out they're primarily vehicles for developers who have large projects, and there's very little else about non-development living . And they don't have any letters from readers either.
