I need the social aspect and the 'forcing' to be quiet for an extended period of time. I too have osteo, but was on drugs for awhile align with yoga, so now it is in the osteopenia stage and holding if not improving slowly. I currently attend classes 3 times a week, in fact sitting here enjoying Starbucks before walking a few more steps to the studio.
Today is regular Hatha with people in several stages of abilities. But on Tuesday and Thursday I go to a Slow Flow class which is a lot like slow, creative dance moves. I greatly enjoy that one.
When I first started going 3 yrs ago, I could not hold any of the lunges, but now they are comfortable. Recently I did a backbend and a headstand with assistance. Also, I finally held the Crow for a few seconds!
