I am particularly moved, as a career coach, by the number of highly educated and financially vulnerable mid-career professionals out of work for over a year. These people still have mortgages and college-age children for whom they are responsible. These hard-working folks had anticipated continued success and independence; instead they are struggling, uncertain as to their futures, and are most often ineligible for any community-based services because of their status and some savings.

I would like to make a comment on this as well. I have both a conventional company as well as an internet business and there are many people out of work around me but I still can’t find help. No one wants to work to start with and then with all the government regulations and taxes I can’t pay but so much because I need to make a profit as well as pay the expenses. Of course I can’t charge but so much because the market can only bare so much. As for my internet business I out source many things from outside the country because you can’t get anything affordable in the US . I can get the services outside the US for half if not less than half for what I can get it here in the US . This is a problem and it has been getting worse over the last few years. The reason why I started my own business was because I realized that when I worked for someone else for dollars per hours I would never have enough to pay my bill much less buy things I wanted to or go and travel like I wanted to. It is not up to the government to give any service to me other that to protect us from our enemy’s both foreign and domestic. I don’t want them to bail me out or anyone else, what I want is for them to leave me alone and let me live. I choose to work and I work hard for MY money and there are jobs but most people don’t want to work. I know that there are jobs because I have openings as well as 7-11, K-mart just to name a few that I see every day of every week. Right now our current administration is determined to have what’s left of the middle class pay for the ones that don’t want to work, but that is just my opinion.
