I have the worst problem with mastectomy bras - it is hard to find my size - because I am a Plus Size. I search on the Internet a lot - and have yet to find a comfortable bra. I wish so much that I would have had both breasts removed, but the shock was so profound at the time of the diagnosis - it didn't enter my mind at that time.
If anyone knows of any good websites that have comfortable Plus Size bras - I just need a comfortable bra. I have a foam insert so that part is not a problem. It is finding my size. I like the front closure bras because both of my arms and hands are a bit disabled. One hand from a car wreck and the other - my arm from the mastectomy I still have problems with, but it is definitey managable. I have had problems with straps constantly slipping off of my shoulders and that drives me nuts. I know it sounds strange, but if I had a comfortable bra for when I go out - the quality of my life would be better because I would at least feel that I look a little better and that I am comfortable.
Thanks for listening.
Have you checked with the American Cancer Society? I thought they could always provide info on stuff like this.
I just had the lumpectomy but I dont like regular bras anymore and just use the pull over camesoles now. Just hate the bras with the hooks in the back....just too much trouble. Let us know if you find what you need in case others need it too...wish I could help more. God Bless............
