It's taken me 4 different browser to accept the fact that I'm logged in, I still can't get those rascally private messages that have been in my AARP box for I don't know how long?
I thing I'm going to make my response to the last post here in a new discussion - as I couldn't put it under NEW. I've tried 4 times to post a response to the original question with no luck using 4 browsers 3 in windoze and 1 in Android - no luck and I should be able to post.
Back 8 years ago (I think) we considered a group meet but, the distances involved AK to MA - kinda put a kabosh on that idea. THe best I can think in future if anyone wants to do a meet and greet and you're in the same general area go for it - a PM or private message to fellow campers, would allow exchange of email or telephone numbers. DON"T exchange numbers or emails in this location, you'd be subject to to much mischief or SPAM opportunity.
Alright back to life in the not too big little hamlet of life in my Northwestern corner of MAINE. I've been strangely absent. Reason are we ready - I went camping with one very happy Dutch Shepherd who wasn't terribly happy when the coyotes were calling for her companionship late one night, or the bear was outside the window of the camp a thrumming (kinda a grumbling distant drumming) - I really have never figured out how to describe the sound a bear makes outside your window, or the scent you might get on the wind - when you really know that isn't a smaller creature approaching you. It gets even more interesting when your in a nylon tent with newbies just discovering the joy of camping in the North Woods, and I won't even bother talking to about the people that are expecting Bigfoot/Meddybemps to appear anytime they hear a few howls and tree knocks in the distance
The firewood pile is growing in the back yard up to 4 cords with one more eventually coming (might post pictures after I whack down the grass in the back yard). I think I've finally hit the aged or getting lazier plateau.
Round about 3rd cord I hired a neighbor-ing youth to finish stacking on one lovely 90-98 degree week.
I'm actually planning on staying in the hamlet this week - to keep my dog happy. She really prefers the back yahd this week, as she heals from a slight strain on her her hind leg - apparently I'm not the only one in this household feeling mature.Celis just more or less turned 10 (purebred rescue's don't come with brith certificates) and has gone from a radar clocked 45 mph to really I'm not runnning after that funky yellow ball today for you or anyone, else 2-legged dude that feeds me.
