I've survived another year in purgatory - black fly season and now it's the beginning of Mossies (mosquitoes) the size of bull mooseys.
Woke up to a lake calling and then I started to unearth the boat from the garage. Amazing how buried something 25 foot long on the trailer can hide from me.
First, it was move some just in case firewood never can tell when you might need to get warm - it is Maine afterall. Move the sand 300 lb's boxes times 3 - great early morning dragging festival - ughh! Move the bikes, chainsaws, battery chargers (need to charge the boat batteries), kindling, woodcarriers, snowshoes, tent.
Round about then - I just decided to ignore the boat, and load the tent, stove, etc. and go camping. Course then I recalled that I had a bed waiting at the camp so, why bother I'm outta here.
Food and cooler at least until the fridge cools down at camp, few cool ones, and my trusty chainsaw and maul for cutting and splitting tonights firewood for the "MOOSE" chiminea. And dare I say, a drill for finally finishing that wondrous 31"x 8' foot pressure treated picnic table that's been sitting in the wangan since last September topless. (Didn't have time to attach the top slats to the table last year).
Hope everyone enjoys camping where ever it may be this week.
" We took to the woods " kinda gone.
now nicely thawing @ 77º overnights in the 50º range, and not a drop of rain in sight.
Note - to self buy a fishing license the salmon are biting, find my fly rod or even a spinner. Landlocked are wondrous fish to behold.
