I trust you'll enjoy all parts of Maine when you arrive. Can't say anything about coastal colors but, they are a-turning wicked fast up here.
I'm from the Northwestern area of Maine up near Sunday River.
My weekend will be spent hauling out 300lb. stoves Round Oak(woodburners) from my Camp around Rangeley on Mooselookmeguntic Lake.
I have some flatlander kin coming up to assist, don't tell anyone but, they're from Bahston. Best suggestion for you is to keep a space heater handy just in case it turns a tad nippy at night. We've been dropping anywhere from 44 to 24 degrees at night.
Heated basement areas for holding tanks or space heaters really help for keeping things liquid. That reminds me I need to drain my water tower before the lengthy freezes start.
Back to the woodpile for now, don't be surprised if you smell a lot of birch burning in chimneys inland and coast. Nothing like a fire to take off the chill of the nightair.
