WE are raising our 4 and 3 yr old grandchildren. Love them to death, but I am finding my patience wearing thin, discipline is such a problem. They aren't use to rules, they just don't seem to understand when they do something wrong, that it is wrong. They are told not to do it, then do it again anyway. I don't believe in spankings, but I find myself yelling alot, and that hurts me, and I know it isn't what they need. Does anyone have any advise for me. How do I make them understand when they have done something wrong, what type of punishment, time outs have not worked at all. Taking toys away has not worked. I just don't know what to do anymore. I will protect them with my own life, but how do I raise them, wasn't expecting this at my age or my own health issues, but they have to have somewhere to be, and foster care I could never do, they are my blood, they belong with family.
