I am a grandmother who has been involved in my 2 grandkids lives since they were born including financially and several times living with us with their parents. They got divorced last year after 12 years and my son had joint custody. This past January she put out a protective order on him because she wants control of the kids. It was thrown out by social service and criminal court as bogus. In civil court however they granted her 3 months with him having to have supervised visits. We have not seen our grandkids since all this began and reached out to have visitations as we have always had with them. She will not respond. Do we have the right to sue for visitations? We live in MD next to VA where they live about 30 minutes apart. We have always been involved in their lives including vacations, etc. Can she keep the kids from us because she is mad at my son when he does not live with us?
