In Response to RE: Congress Must Cut Off AARP's Taxpayer Funding by jpg391
You do know that they are required by law to pay taxes on unrelated business income, I gather AARP's nonprofit business is insurance? If not they should be paying taxes on the money from their insurance dealings. The IRS is has been cracking down on churches for unrelated business income for a number of years. But other non profits who knows?
But the question here is not who gets to avoid paying taxes it is should a be whether any nonprofit should get tax payer funding from the government! And if they do get taxpayer funding should they be able to wield as much Political Clout as AARP does!
