My german shepherd had eight puppies three years ago. The vet said she should stay inside and later be fixed when her puppies were weaned. She had the operation and was sick for about a week. Later she seemed to sleep and eat more than before. I have four small dogs that belong to my children who have left to go to college so I keep a kennel outside and my older shepherd stayed inside with me . I noticed she was losing weight. Her appetite was good and she exercised daily but she was losing about a pound a week. She was overweight but when she got down to fifty pounds I thought she was in bettr health. However, the vet said she had a mass of cancer growing inside of her. Aftert the operation, she was bettter for a couple of weeks but the cancer came back and she had another operation. I just lost her last week and I am in so much pain because she showed me such love and was like a child, I tried to do everything I could to prolong her life. She was ten years old. How do I get on with my life?
