It's fun to see how many ways we can save with repurposing thow away items. In my freezer I have a large container for leftover vegs. Even if it's a TBS it goes in the container. In the cold months I'll make a batch of homemade soup from leftover Sun. roast and toss those vegs. in. In the summer I add them to pasta salads.
I also save all the "heels" of bread in the freezer. No one in my house will eat them. When I have a large bag saved up I make bread pudding or bread crumbs.
I'm also known for my homemade spaghetti sauce. Always made from scratch with fresh herbs (freezer) I'll make several large kettles throughout the year, (I'll use the fresh tomatoes in my freezer sometimes), divide it into freezer bags and VOILA!!! Nothing like homemade.
I have thousands of ways I repurpose food. To many to list, but, you get the drift. My daughter and I challenge each other with what we have on hand. It's almost like Chopped on the Food Network!!!!!!
