I found FIRM in downtown LA has a scolarship store that sells clothes made with good quaility fabric, but at Wallmart prices (located 9th and South grand). Also, if you sew Michael Levine's on 919 or 920 Maple Ave. Downtown LA has a loft above the home decorating store (2nd floor) fabric is sold $2.50 a pound. They have mostly knits, silky and sheer fabric. I bought fabric for just over .34 cents a yard including tax. FIRM is closed sundays and weekdays is less crowded. If you go to Downtown LA it is better to carpool or use public transportation because all parking you have to pay for except if you Park at Michael Levine's, but you have to purchase $20.00 to get the parking free.
