Your post of the Kaiser article is exactly my point so thanks.
WHERE IS THE PRESIDENT'S PLAN TO SAVE MEDICARE AFTER 2024? REMEMBER THE BIPARTISAN PLAN OF RYAN/WYDEN DOES THAT BUT THE PRESIDENT HAS NO PLAN SO
AFTER 2024 THERE ARE NO MONIES TO PAY MEDICARE BENEFITS....
OR DID I MISS THE PRESIDENT'S PLAN TO FIX MEDICARE?

This for the totally mathematically deprived:
1. In 2024 (or 2032 per CBO) the receipts from FICA contributions, plus interest from the Medicare Trust Fund, will equal projected benefit payments.
2. At that time, benefits MIGHT be reduced to 87% of current levels, and that level of support will remain available to Seniors for the foreseeable future. Only a total idiot can think that somehow the FICA contributions will cease in 2024, which is the only way the GOPer-dupe prediction of "no monies to pay Medicare benefits" can possibly occur.
At OR BEFORE that time, an additional source of revenue, like increasing the FICA contribution by TWO-TENTHS OF ONE PERCENT or taxing currently untaxed income, will be provided, and the payments will continue at 100% FOREVER.
The only thing we need to do to make sure the "or" happens and benefits remain at 100% is to make certain no GOPers get elected to Congress or (heaven portend) the White House between now and 2032.
