Most folks pick up the paper and read that their local government, school districts, and state governments are going broke because they can no longer afford the outrageous health care and retirement demands OF PUBLIC SECTOR UNIONS.......Will the cause the collapse of our government structure as a whole? WILL THIS CAUSE THE DEMISE OF AN ALREADY FAILING PUBLIC EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM?
Will Medicare and Social Security be fixed in the near future?. We sure hope so but if the far left radicals liberals in Washington listen to the hoggish UNIONS nothing will get done.....THE UNIONS DON'T WANT ANY OF THEIR BENEFITS CUTS AND DON'T WANT THE ENTITLEMENT BENEFITS TOUCHED....
JUST LIKE A HUGE TWINKIE THEY EAT EVERY MORNING. THE SAME TWINKIE THEY, THE HOGGISH UNIONS, CAUSED THE DEATH OF.
Some things have to stop AND HAVE TO BE CHANGED..
The Cost of Government Workers
[U]nless state and local government plans for their employees’ pensions are reined in, households will face state and local tax increases of almost $1,400 per year forever.
NBER Working Paper highlight:
In twelve states, the necessary immediate increase is more than $1,500 per household per year, and in five states it is at least $2,000 per household per year. A key feature of this analysis is that it accounts for the cost of new DB [defined benefit] accruals, for both current and future workers, not just the cost of unfunded legacy liabilities. Decomposing the results into these two components reveals that 49% of the increased contributions would be required to pay only the present value of new service accruals.
