I read an article yesterday comparing 127 Hours to Buried, a film starring Ryan Reynolds where he plays a contractor in the Middle East taken hostage and kept in a coffin. It showed the similarities between the two plots--mostly one actor dealing with his predicament alone. I agree that Ryan Reynolds put in a really good performance in this role. It probably has escaped your radar but I recommend it. He's not what I would consider an A-list actor right now (he probably will escalate to that when Green Lantern comes out) but he's certainly matured in his choice of roles.
