~REMEMBERING OUR VETERANS~~ALL GAVE SOME--SOME GAVE ALL~We remember those today who served our Country in any capacity. We also take time out for a moment of prayer for our Nation, our President, lawmakers, and all in active duty or reserves, across this land,as well as their families. May we always remember our soldiers inprayer.November 11th is the Day set aside as a very important holiday to observeVeteran's Day in this country. In 1954, President Dwight D. Eisenhowersigned a bill into law for this day to be in honor of our country's veterans. This day was formerly called 'Armistice day' as President Woodrow Wilsonhad proclaimed it as such in 1919, and it became a national holiday in 1938.On this day, our County has many patriotic speeches, parades, and otherobservances in honor of those who served in the Armed Forces. Many losttheir lives, and many have the scars of battle or memories of time spentin service for our Country. Thousands are buried in Arlington NationalCemetery outside Washington, D. C., and other cemeteries, who gave their livesin time of battle. These, as the unknown soldier, are gone, but not forgotten. This is the day we set aside in remembrance of all who gave willingly toprotect the freedom of their Country. We give thanks for these as weremember, and also those who are serving today. We have seen wars and battles since Bible days. Even in Old Testamentdays , the Lord told his people to go in and possess the land. He had giventhem the land, it was up to them to go in and drive out the enemy as He wentbefore them. They fought for their freedom and what had been given themby the Lord. These Saints of old were in a battle against the forces of evil, andmany of these lost their lives, but gained a far better country. When we readHebrews 11, we see the heroes of the faith and how they endured by seeing whatthe Lord had prepared for those who believed in Him. We also remember these asensamples, ( examples), and know if we fight the good fight of faith, we also shallenter into all the promises of the Lord and his eternal rest. We are in the greatestArmy of all and have been given mighty weapons of warfare and the wholearmor of God.In this day of terrorist threats, wars, and rumors of war, there is still hope inGod. He promised never to leave us or forsake us. Blessed is a Nation whoseGod is the Lord. As we join in prayer for our Nation and all across thisworld, may we remember the price paid for our freedom. Many gave all.....all gavesome, and there are those today still willing to serve their Country for the sakeof freedom. We know not what the future holds for our Country, but we do knowwho holds the future. In Him, we can be secure, as He will be with us always. Our Lord gave His all that we might have everything. He willingly laid downHis life that we might have a new life and take up our cross daily to follow him.We are soldiers in the Army of our Lord and have a Commander-In-Chief whogoes before us every day to lead us in victory. In the good fight of faith, wehave a promise of a crown of life and a better country awaiting. We mustendure as a good soldier of the cross. Take time out to say a prayer for ourCountry, leaders, lawmakers, also those in service both at home andin foreign lands. We remember the fallen, their families and friendstoday; and give thanks for those who were willing to serve their country. We also pray that we, as Christians, might see the admonition of our Lordin 2 Chronicles 7: 14, as He promises... "if my people which are called bymy name, shall humble themselves and seek my face, and turn fromtheir wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven; and will forgive their sinand will heal their land."This whole world needs the prayers of God's people that all might cometo know and trust in Him. He has called each one into active duty but manyhave not heeded the call. May we seek to share and care for every soul whohas not answered the call of the Lord. He will bless us for caring and hearour every prayer. Our Lord guards the course of the just and protects theway of His faithful ones.*********************************************************'Thank you' to our Veterans and all those who serve our country!May God watch over you and keep you in His love and protection is our prayer.
God bless you!
