Hi all and Happy Mother's Day 2008.
As the article points out, there are not too many rock n roll songs dedicated to mom : )
Mother's Day songs: Where are they?

When was the last time your family and friends gathered around the old upright piano and sang "Mother the Queen of My Heart"?
Not every holiday, it's true, has produced a lot of memorable songs. We can't all be Christmas. But most of the others have at least a few. "Easter Parade" for Easter, "The Monster Mash" for Halloween, you know, like that.
Any good patriotic song works for the Fourth of of July or Memorial Day, and there are plenty of working songs for Labor Day.
But when it comes to Mother, songs seem to come and go. Connie Francis' "Mama" has the right sentiment for a lot of people, but after it became a pop hit more than 45 years ago, it disappeared from general circulation.
How about "Mama" by B.J. Thomas?
Love that song. Seems perfect.
"Mama Liked The Roses" by Elvis is good but very sad since he was taking the flowers to place on her grave.
