My granddaughter turned 2 on February 13th. I was backlogged with work due to the heavy snow in PA so I agreed to allow my daughter to have a supervised visit the whole day with my sister present instead of me. Ok'd with the caseworker. I then find out daddy is there even though he has never contacted the caseworker to schedule visits, drug tests or parenting classes which my daughter has recently done a few weeks ago. She hadn't seen her since November. He is a drug dealer. I cut the visit short when I found out he was present. My daughter said he will always be her dad and I can't change that. I think she is doing everything to get her back and then she will run back to this physically abusive drug dealer and start using again herself as soon as she gets her back. She said in court she was not with him any longer and he is not going to do anything. Was I wrong or should I just turn the blind eye?
I am assuming you, as the grand parent, are the care giver of the grand child??? And yes you did the right thing... And yes, no one can not argue that the father, who is a drug dealer, is the father.... And apparently the dealing of drugs was an issue in having the child removed from the parent???? Now I think back in my life experience, my daughter did drugs; we, as grand parents, got guardianship of 3 grand kids; and took my daughter four years to put her children first and become a mother to them. And, yes everyday, I am so thankful that the agency Did Not become involved.... Since, many times they can over react and make a simple incident seem like a major incident.... ie since you, as Grand Parents, are currently the responsible care givers, and it would take too much from an untrained worker to make a big deal out of this incident and even remove the Grand Kids from your care...... Don't mean to scare you, but I have seen children removed for less.....So then, ask your daughter if this happens and the children are Totally Removed, how is this going to be?????
