I posted the following in Singles Perspective, but now think that I should have posted it here.
Is anyone else concerned about getting the H1N1 flu? And if so, what are you doing? Is your concern affecting your lifestyle? I am not in one of the health department's highest risk categories, so it is going to be awhile before I can get the shot. And there is a good chance that there will be none left by the time I am eligible to get it. I realize that my concerns are affecting how often I go out, where I go, who I invite into my home, etc. I am trying to avoid contact with anyone who might have or could be coming down with this flu. I have custody of my grandson who is still in school. He is in one of the high risk categories and has gotten both the regular yearly and the H1N1 flu shots. Hopefully he won't bring it home. But my daughter and two other granchildren live nearby and I see them often. She is concerned about having to miss work because she or one of the kids is sick. So we do call and check on whether anybody is sick before we get together. But, when I go to the store, out to eat, to a movie, whatever, I don't know who is sick until it's too late to avoid exposure. Last summer, I attended an all-day community forum on Swine flu; maybe I am being paranoid because of everything that I heard at the forum. What are your thoughts?
My grandaughter received the H1N1 but not the seasonal. She has never received the Seasonal Flu shot. My husband and I got the seasonal, but not the H1N1. I don't believe that we are at high risk for Swine Flu, just the children are. It is more dangerous for the children and pregnant women. I am not paranoid about it. Just make sure we all wash our hands often.
