Thanks kindly, Lindy. I was unaware of them. I'm off to the supermarket now. My wife has been ill and not eating much. Trying to help nurse her back.
If you're ever looking for an empowering national self-help support group organization (that has local face-to-face mutual aid support groups) for any most any specific disorder, disability, addiction, bereavement situation, parenting, caregiver, abuse, or other stressful life situation, there's a non-profit, mostly volunteer-run American Self-Help Group Clearinghouse (with which I serve), that provides an online keyword-searchable database of over 1,200 such member-run support groups through www.selfhelpgroups.org
Take care and much thanks. Best to you in your continued good works here and have a good life, - Ed
"The real epidemic in our country is not just physical heart disease but also the loneliness, emotional pain and isolation . If we create other ways of fostering a sense of intimacy and community, we find that people are much more likely to make and maintain life-enhancing changes." - Dean Ornish, M.D. in his book, Dr. Dean Ornish's Program for Reversing Heart Disease (1990).
Thanks for the self-help group information...that may definitely come in handy! And I hope you were able to find a good multi-vitamin your wife can take.
Also...if your wife needs to take calcium - which, again, are enormous horse pills - there is one brand that is smaller. Citracal makes "Petites" that are half the size of regular calcium pills and much easier to swallow. They are also made from calcium citrate which is a superior form of calcium than calcium carbonate...the type normally used in cheaper brands.
Blessings to you and your wife...and wishing her a speedy recovery!
