I did the same as you; I stopped using artificial sweetners and don't use much. I also use honey instead in tea. I have not tried the Stevia yet. I realized I don't add sugar to much of anything anyway.
ps glad your pressure is back to normal. That is dangerous.
I just learned that the Fiber One original (14 gms fiber per 1/2 cup), aka: twigs LOL, has some artificial sweetner................UGH! I've been using this everyday for the past 17 months. How I missed Aspartame in the ingredients bugs me, it's low on the list but I guess I concentrated on the fact that this cereal was allowed on WW's Core and high in fiber.
